Try "launching" the auto. Step on the brake, hit the throttle so that the revs go up to where it hangs and release the brake

Dash, that vid and specifically the camera man's disappointment made me laugh!

I think my S-exy young thing has lame disease, as I wouldn't dare take on a performance car.  When she still had std tyres, I did once show a BM 130i and later a 330i how a mom's taxi can go after starting a few car lengths behind and I did end neck-and-neck with a woman in an A3 2.0T.  The A3 WAS tuned though.  I know coz the woman's my wife and I'm the one who had the A3 tuned. ;)

So I think it's time I had my lame girl checked out properly.

Had a dice with a Golf R, not the new one, that's a beast. Pulled away from him and saw his girlfriend giving him stick at the next robot. So I did it again just for fun. ;D
Golf GTi not a problem. They get smoked in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Only start catching up after 4th and then the ECU pulls the timing. Not telling what speed we were doing. :o :o
Raced a Porche Cayene and that also had it handed to him. They do pull well though.
Q3 2.0T, Also got smoked. And I was pulling a 5m flatbed trailer  ::)
Got beaten by a modified 2012 Sirocco R but he had to work really hard.
1/4 mile times around 13.8 with a bit of a bog on launch.

I got my ass handed to me by a 335i GT BMW over the weekend, robot to robot. WOW they are quick!

I guess it is time for that bigger turbo! :)

Those things are properly quick!
First gear I smoked the last one I raced, and it just went downhill after that.
But he still looked a bit surprised though.

Hey guys, I just schooled a scirocco TFSi DSG this evening. He was playing around with a mini roadster, and cut me off, so he was promptly taught a lesson. At the lights he drove away very slowly, must have bruised his ego ... Shame😂

Nice one Hilton, hehe...
This morning I had some fun with a Nissan 370Z with free-flows, between 3 sets of robots.
I don't think he was going all-out.  We chatted at the end, he was really surprised to hear the Foz was stock and on oversized AT tyres.
Tells me he's going to do stg 1 soon, but also has plans to go supercharged, induction, the works..talking about 340kW.
Note to self: don't take on THAT one again!

370Z is quickish in Cape town. Up at the reef it will no doubt have a bit of a handicap, but its by no means slow :)

Nice run!

Took on challenge with White M135i (235kW, 450Nm?) this morning.
Between 3 sets of robots, each red, no traffic ahead, so 3 changes to test  ;D
I did not want to launch since AWD would bog down or gearbox break, but I did let clutch slip a bit and once I had momentum floored it up to 3rd gear.

From start the BMW was faster but in 2nd gear I pulled him in and kept up/even up to 3rd gear 100km/h then brake hard for red light.
Was fun, and I am sure driver was a bit confused this odd tall station wagon could keep up  :)

10 years older, down 25kw and 90Nm so I was impressed.  Makes me wanna go to S2S next time.

F4RS1D3 that sounds like fun. Beating one of them will be my dream, as I had one yesterday bugging me in traffic, i teased him a bit knowing that the traffic will not allow him to show me just how fast he is LOL.

Got my arse handed to my by a golf last night!
Given it was a Golf R DSG.
I was quick off the line but he quickly caught me about halfway to the next set of lights.
Duh!!!
But reading up on the car, I must say I don't feel too bad. Thats a powerful little car!

I didn't kill anybody but i did take part in Killarney Street 2 Strip drag racing last Friday evening.
I managed a 14.1s quarter mile on first run and 14.2 on 2nd attempt.  Was hoping for number in the 13's though but cannot complain with standard all-terrain narrow tyres fitted.  ;D
In my eagerness to change gears I slammed the window wiper stalk into high speed mode so was distracted by that lol.

Amazing how much wheelspin AWD is capable of on a slippery start.  The FWD & RWD cars were struggling for traction.  I heard a BMW M3 did a 14.3 and a modified Chev Lumina bakkie a 14.5 so I am pleased.  Beat a standard hatch WRX but they only 169kW.  First run was against a narrowbody WRX with claimed 243kW and he did a 13.3s.
