Needed a practical car for holidays, driving on the farm, etc but also wanted something I could mod and play with. Always wanted a Scooby so a Forester XT was the obvious choice and I liked the fact that it could be a proper sleeper.

When it came to mods it had to be planned fairly carefully as not to compromise on or offroad capability as it would be very easy to bias it towards one or the other. It had to have usable power & torque and lots of it, be able to stop properly, handle good on & off road while still being comfortable. As for looks I didn't want to give any of its capabilities away so it had to resemble a stock XT as closely as possible but then it had to have the infamous Scooby rumble so that's the only clue.

I reckon I have achieved my goal with this car and if anything it's better on and off road than it was stock so I'm very happy with the result.

Had the windows tinted today, thanks again to @stofstreep for pointing me in the right direction. 35% 150 micron Llumar all round, it looks much darker in the pics than it actually is.

Had the moon roof done as well but on second thought I should have gone for 15% since it's still not nearly dark enough with the sun from above.

Thanks, speak to JP at PG Glass Menlyn - I've done my homework, you won't easily get 150 or even 100 micron cheaper or even close to what they're charging.

That's correct - do you also stay in the area?

Cool. Yep, 35% is the legal limit but I think you can go darker on the rear side windows.
