Planning on upgrading my XT's radiator since the stock one is just not up to the task. Extended periods of boost as well as low speed, uphill driving sees it battling to get the temp back in check.

Anyway, I can get either of these for roughly the same price so which do I go for? Mishimoto got a lifetime guarantee but Koyo seems to be slightly better built and higher rated.

Thoughts?

You have an auto right? What are you going to do about the oil cooler?

They're around R5k depending on where you buy from.

I'm sure Jerry from import parts said it was R5k when I was there but now all of a sudden it's R7k. Still R5k from Pyro but they're waiting for stock.

Is that just for the oil cooler? And the radiator? Will probably look at this mod next year. Bit broke after brakes,  X suspension and upcoming dp and remap :)

Sorry, no that's just for the radiator. The the and cooler is R1500-R1800.
Could get both a lot cheaper if you're importing yourself but then shipping is a killer.

Still, if Pyro wants R5k and R1.8k for the oil cooler, then that is not so bad. Was expecting it to be more. If you look on the internet, then the Mishimoto radiators go for about $350, with the oil cooler at $120ish, so then roughly R7k for both is not bad.

Absolutely.

I'm pretty much done doing  my homework now - not going to be able to beat Pyro's price by importing myself so Mishimoto it is then. Pyro won't be getting the trans cooler with their shipment coming next month and Importparts is saying it's on back order. That means I'll be getting the radiator from Pyro and having to source the cooler myself unfortunately.

Good luck with that! Are you going to look for the Mishi cooler and just import, or are you going to look at other options?

Thanks, no I'll import the Mishi cooler via eBay. Looks like it'll work out around R1800 landed which is the same as what Importparts wants except there is stock on ebay. I would have preferred to buy everything from the same shop but it's unfortunately not an option unless I wait 2 months.

Hope you manage that. I looled today and it all seemed to work out to more than R2k... We can only hope the dollar goes bust :)

Thanks, yep best so far is R1800 landed. Just waiting for 2 other leads, but I doubt I'd be able to get it cheaper.

I'm very sure it would.  :D The temp needle doesn't move between 85 and 105 deg so you could be at 110+ before you'd start noticing it running too hot. Scary.
