Hi Guys

Go and take a look under Smart Solutions for skid plates to protect the underside of your 2.0D, 2.5i amd 3.6i Outbacks. Ideal protection for all those gravel roads and dunes that you might find in your way!

Has anybody else fitted one of these to their Outbacks?
I just installed mine, but it lowers the ground clearence by at least 2cm. Then I still had to add another 5mm spacer on the rear mounting point as the plate was rubbing against the exhaust.
I'm not too pleased. As far as I am concerned it should add to the ability of the vehicle, not make it worse.
I think I wasted my money...

Yah, I completely modified it today. Got in there with a hole saw and angle grinder. It not only fits much better now, but my ground clearence is back to what it is supposed to be.
The idea of the skidplate is good, I just wish the guys that designed and made it put some more effort into it.
