Ultimately, you should really run NF with every tank. I can feel how the car goes all slow on me, even at low boost (1.1)

But, I dont run it with every tank either... I actually should. The Aquamist helps with keeping the intake temps down though.

Cool, how much of a mission is it to install Aquamist?

Can't remember the "rules" but I think it's limiting boost when IAT reaches a certain point. This only happens when sitting in traffic, I still need to find a blob STi scoop, it's just much easier said than done. At least I've got the splitter waiting.

No idea on the install.  Pyro did it and set it up. There are cheaper options too. I think my system was close on 7k. I run just water and no meth. With meth it should make a big difference.

Howdy! I recently had my stock 2007 XT TD04 turbo replaced with a VF48 off of a 2011 Sti hatch - the VF48 turbo isn't exactly a
"direct bolt-on". The inlet pipe on the VF48 is angled slightly up whereas the TD04 is straight from what it seems.

This means that the Y-Pipe from the stock XT intercooler doesn't fit as it should and some modifications are needed to get it to bolt on and not have any boost leaks.

just my 2c...

Thanks for the info. Mine was VF48 and huge TMIC+Y-pipe from the same Sti done same time so no problems.

Stock intercooler is very small, should be interesting to see how it copes with the VF48.

There is not much temp differences when only running 1 bar. 14.5psi

Stock TMIC 17psi                                             PERRIN TMIC 17psi

3000RPM Inlet 171F/ Outlet 97F                                           Inlet 195F/ Outlet 107F

4500RPM Inlet 204F/ Outlet 102F                                         Inlet 228F/ Outlet 119F

6900RPM Inlet 261F/ Outlet 138F                                         Inlet 284F/ Outlet 158F

IC Efficiency    71%-63% at redline                                             69%-59% at redline.

Thos differences are marginal at 1.17bar and I dont think its worth it if you are only planning on running that boost. The perrin should be more effecient than a STI cooler also.

I still think the best way to cool intake charges is with Water injection.

Yep but the stock TMIC they've tested looks about double the size of the stock XT TMIC?

Looks like it could have been a stock STI cooler.

Yep, now stock XT vs stock STi would be a much bigger difference I'm sure.
