That is insane. I love it! :D

That being said, that is not an easy or cheap path to go down and if I did it would probably be supercharger as I feel it's more suited to the car's nature.

Ja, that Crawford one is nuts  8)
I started fantasising after ScoobyFest - the wife has always been an Elise fan and she was stoked to see the SC one there.
I then looked at BRZ's, thinking that one could possibly get a nice 2nd hand one for a decent price, given Subaru's usual drop in value.
I also saw a highly modded Exige with GT35 turbo advertised locally - 400kW on the wheels, it said...in what, 1,000kg??
THAT should be a bit of fun...

That should be "interesting". :D I'd prefer the linear power delivery of a supercharger in a RWD car like that, I may be wrong but a GT3X Exige is probably more of a drag car?

Not sure about the BRZ being Subaru & all but the 86es seems to be holding their values pretty well. You should have gone around the track with my buddy in the red one at Red Star.

Spot on mate.
I've got a Vortech SC 86 and it's got the perfect amount of power, and the ideal power delivery for a light RWD car.
More than enough grunt to have a lot of fun, but not enough to make it awkward to drive :)

Exactly - saw an advert from Mazda saying that if you can't drive a 90HP car fast then 900HP won't help you.

Fisheagle - post some videos please.

It's the RGM Vortech kit - only one I would trust in SA. Sprintex makes more power but the local and Aus support is absolutely pathetic. A good friend had one on his 86. It's now collecting dust...

Sprintex makes more power...

OK, I'll find some videos.

I diced an RMS Sprintex supercharged 86 at Zwartkops last month (that red one sav) and ate him for breakfast.  He's got a bit more hp and torque than me, but I've got more track experience, so he was easy meat - LOL.   Nice guy though - we enjoyed chatting afterwards.   Sadly, I didn't get video of that session.

An example of how insignificant high horsepower can be on a racetrack.
This hot Chev Lumina SS had double my hp, and would haul away from me on the straights, but...

At the end of the video, you'll see a gaggle of "slow" cars in front of me.
The black Lumina SS, another Sti, a white hatch (don't remember what, but he was OK), BMW Z4M, and another Lumina SS.
All except the white car were mobile chicanes, and with Zwartkop's rules of no passing under braking or in corners - well, I was snookered.
If the high-powered "slow" cars don't let me pass on a straight, then I frustratingly can't get past because they just haul away from me on the straights.
These cars were all 5 secs a lap or more slower than me.

This is why I prefer mixing it with racecars at Midvaal...

And here's an example of how unbelievably quick bespoke racecars are (Midvaal Raceway in January).
This is Trevor Bland in one of the Pepper Racing PG Glass sponsored Polos which compete in the national Engen VW cup series.
Makes me look like I'm going backwards... :)
