Not a BRZ but close enough.

Fitted a set of Volk TE37's in satin black. They're just over 2kg lighter than stock, per corner.

And no Steven, these are not Belville style Rotas, they're the real deal. :D

Is it just me, or does the 86 front bumper look better to you than the BRZ one?

Somehow the BRZ bumper looks like something from a Citroen? It doew not look bad, but it does not suit the vehicle as much.

Yep, I've been saying since day one. The 86's bumper looks like it was designed that way and flows with the rest of the car's lines. The BRZ's was changed for the sake of being different by adding a gum guard. Still not bad looking as you've said, it just didn't need changing.

Yep, I agree 100% - I've never really liked the BRZ bumper either.
But I do like your new wheels, a lot :)

Haha thanks. Nothing wrong with Rotas but they're not lightweight or forged. Still pretty and most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Yes, Rota is an imitation wheel.

I spotted the 86/brz club here in my dorpie over the weekend. Such a cool looking car. A lot of value, even from the baby spec 86. (probably the best value)

Yep, they had a fairly big run apparently. Jacques with the Greddy turbo one was there as well.

To be honest I reckon the High spec is better value considering the extra you get:
1)Bigger front brakes
2)Bigger and vented rear brakes
3)17" wheels

Then also some nice to haves:
-Bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights
-Alcantara/leather combo seats vs plain cloth
-Leather trim around the center console, speakers, etc
-Dual zone auto climate control
-Cruise control
-Frameless rearview mirror
-Digital speedometer with different cluster
-Full sized alloy spare wheel
-Boot spoiler
-etc

I've done some research and if you took all of those options with BMW/Audi it would cost R70-R80k extra.
The BRZ comes with most of the High spec stuff as standard, the speedo cluster and dash panel trim is just different. And of course the suspension is setupp to be less "oversteery".

It's horses for courses...

I bought the standard spec 86 because I don't want all that stuff like heated seats, etc.   The only things I miss are cruise control and a digital speedo (which I've overcome with a tablet).

What I really don't understand is why Subaru wanted the BRZ to have more understeer.   I don't find the 86 oversteery at all.  On track, I battle with understeer and need to find a way to reduce understeer.   Wonder if it's my fat ass that changes the balance of the car and makes it understeer? LOL

Based on research I've done recently into prices of parts comparing Subaru and Toyota, I've found Subaru about 40% cheaper.
So don't be surprised if you see some Subaru badges on my 86 soon  8)
