Hi

I have a tactrix cable (1.3) and a 2006 Forester XT. My laptop is running Windows 7 x64. I get RomRaider to connect and read the car. I can't get ECUFlash to read the car. I need to get this working as I need to kill the secondary air injection system. Any ideas to why one program will connect and the other not? I am not running them simultaneously.

Not sure but I'm assuming Ecuflash needs Openport 2.0?

Mine is compatible with the older cable: http://www.romraider.com/Documentation/RomRaiderFAQ#toc8

Bought the cable from Steve long time ago as he had the same car and just never took the time to get it working.

Did you connect the green test connector under the steering wheel?

Sav no. That is the newer cable. I edited my response though and my car should be compatible with the older cable.

I did not connect the two green connectors - is it necessary on the 06 model as well or just the older models?

Yes. It changed from 2007 onwards.

Also doublecheck whether the version of EcuFlash you have supports that Tactrix v1.3 cable. It probably does, but just make sure.

Still does not connect with the green connectors connected. I can hear the fans and relays cycling though.

You have to get the "timing" right when you connect. When you hear the fans, you're too late.

Start with a ROM "read" in ECU Flash. It will give you a window which say you have to turn the ignition on. Switch the ignition to on and literally press "enter" to connect a split second later. If you wait too long here, the fans will start cycling.

So let me put down what I do and what happens, maybe someone can tell me what is wrong.

I open Openecu
I plug the cable into the computer and then the car's port
The blue light on the cable comes on so it is connected correctly
I have set the default vehicle to STi05
When I click on read from ECU the message I get is:

Using interface FT232R USB UART A4008TRU
[15:47:34.179] interface close
[15:47:34.293] unable to connect to vehicle interface.
[15:47:34.293] interface close
