After upgrading the front brakes on my XT to Brembo last year, I'm now looking to complete the rears (not because I need it, just because I can)
I though I would ask Subaru for some prices just to compare to aftermarket.

Wait for it..........

Some progress, I found used disks, and with the help of my brother started designing the adapter brackets required. He 3D printed it in plastic and everything seems to fit and line up. Now I need to find someone that can CNC machine them for me. The last step will be to have the handbrake shoes relined with thicker material, looks like it will need to be about 10mm thick, don't know if it is doable yet.  I need to see how much the machining will be first, it may be to expensive to carry on right now.

Will let you know when I get there. It should not make that much difference on the rear. The disks are quite a bit bigger.  I may need to upgrade the master cylinder and booster to STi items. Waiting for someone to post one on the "Pay it forward" thread ;)

Eventually got a quote for CNC machining today. Its not cheap, around R4000.00.
After being referred from place to place , this is so far the only quoteI I have.
Imported from US they are $250, with shipping it will be aroud the same amount.
I'm still deciding.

Adapter brackets arrived today. Will do a test fit the weekend. Then I need to have the handbrake shoes relined with thicker material.

Looking good. Pity I've only seen this now, I had rear brackets designed and made for around R1500/set if I remember correctly.

Yes, thanks alot for the help >:(. Is yours for the red wrx calipers? What type of steel did you use?
Things did not work out as planned, the curve of the handbrake shoe is to small, the thick lining material would not bend around it.  They ended up using 8 mm marterial instead of the 12mm I wanted.  The hanbrake would just not hold the car on an incine. Luckely I did not have to pay. It will need a steel spacer welded to the shoe, with the friction marerial on top of that. Other than that, the calipers fitted good, had them bled and working.Took them off again for the handbrake problem.
Can you PM me the deatails of the machine shop you used?

This was for 2 pot WRX rear calipers on my 86. Not exactly the same but roughly the same idea - chat to the guy, I'm sure he'd be able to help.
Not sure exactly what steel was used but I've opted for powdercoated steel rather than aluminum.

I'll PM you his number.
