confession: I have a wagon fetish
I need to start saving the randelas, the levorg has been confirmed by SSA for SA at the end of the year, based on the new global platform. I have owned a gc8, bug, blob and hawk wagon and moved to a foz when they started bringing the stupid hatch instead of the wagon. wonder what the prices will be like.

If the Levorg was available in a slightly raised version, think the old Outback Sport you got in the USA, it would be a really great alternative to a Foz.
However, I love my Scoobies after owning six, but after my expensive radio failure in my Outback (The new one is again on the fritz. GPS failed) and the noisy, knocking front suspension on bad roads that is deemed "normal" by the dealers, I will unfortunately shop elsewhere in the future. Don't know what, though!

this will run on the new platform, from the reviews it is miles ahead of the current gen in terms of refinement  and ride comfort and especially cabin noise

JP, I think by the time the 7 seater arrives most of the kids will be out of the house and you won't need it anymore...

Some interesting things lined up for this Steve, G4 Impreza and face lifted WRX/WRX STi. Of course the Levorg, with however many seats  ::) and possibly a new XV towards the end of the year. Other vehicles will be getting Eye Sight, not sure which models but will come this year.

I think Steve was referring to vehicle pricing. Subaru models are expensive, but when you compare it to other models, they actually give good value. If you compare a Forester to a Fortuner directly, the cheapest 4x4 Fortuner is R599'100. But if you ignore 4x4 and look at the cheaper Fortuner models, they give much more bells and whistles for the same or less money than a similar Forester.
Also, for most South Africans, vehicle purchasing is hugely dependent on resale value (or perceived resale value) and there Toyota gives the edge. At least, until a newer model comes out.

never compare a Forester to a Fortuner, Forester can be compared to the Rav4 but not Fortuner. ;D

Pricing is always an issue yes.....

Dene, does not matter how many facelifts the WRX/STi has - if they don't up the game in terms of performance - they will not sell.

How many WRX/STI's was sold this year so far??

STi is way overpriced and so is the WRX. In the past they were so well priced for the performance you got......but they never moved forward.....Subaru stood still in time when it came to performance, let's also not talk about the 2.5 motors today! :-X

Touche, JP. You are right, the RAV4 and Forester compares Apples to Apples.
If you compare models on the web-sites the RAV4 compares great to a Forester at marginally lower pricing.
That is until you realize you are comparing a FWD Rav4 to an AWD Forester. Yes, many people does not give a s#it about 4x4/AWD, but that feature adds a HUGE price premium to any car.
