never compare a Forester to a Fortuner, Forester can be compared to the Rav4 but not Fortuner. ;D

Touche, JP. You are right, the RAV4 and Forester compares Apples to Apples.
If you compare models on the web-sites the RAV4 compares great to a Forester at marginally lower pricing.
That is until you realize you are comparing a FWD Rav4 to an AWD Forester. Yes, many people does not give a s#it about 4x4/AWD, but that feature adds a HUGE price premium to any car.

spot on Bravo, also, the Rav4 interior is hidious. I drove a Rav when the fortuner went in for a service, really a crap car compared to a Forester. Can't understand why so many people drive them.

ALLES LOOP REG, ALTYD REG, TOYOTA!

... the Rav4 interior is hidious.
I think we should contact the publishers of the Oxford Dictionary and request that the the explanation of the word "Hideous" should be replaced with photos of the interior on the new Toyota models...

JP, yes I agree, the Wrx and STi all gave good bang for your buck but now every brand has a quick model in their line up and some like Audi multiple models. Wrx needs to undergo a revolution and not try and evolve into something that Subaru think will be comparative to the rest of the quick cars.
Go back to no frills, pure performance which is what made the WRX an icon in the first place.

And also yes review the pricing.

Sorry, but any manufacturer that think it is OK to stick a cheap-china-looking tablet on the Dash to serve as the entertainment system, needs to have their designers fired.
And almost everyone does it these days. Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Toyota

agreed, however, the Fortuner's screen looks a lot better than the bakkies, the bakkies they forgot about audio and quickly plakked the tablet in the middle of the dash.

Dene, ouch man, really ouch!! ;D

I agree with Steve new Tuna interior looks good, friend of mine sold his previous model to buy the new one, he got 60k less than what he paid for it 3years prior which is fantastic if you ask me.
Subaru needs to up their warranty and maintenance plan at the price point they are playing in my 2c.

JP quite right, sorry I wasn't directly comparing Subaru with Toyota, just meant in general, it would put me off a new car purchase. When you drop 500k on a car you want to know maintenance is sorted for a while.

No stress Speedy. I believe all cars with a price tag of R250+ should have a Maintenance Plan and not service plan. ;)

It really should be an option to buy a vehicle without any of them. I can claim the VAT from services and repairs but not from the price of a car which includes the service or maintenance plan.

And due to the fact that I do no travel that many kilometers annually, I always loose at least 2 services.

i have done it in the past for customers, when you buy a new car you can ask for the price of the maintenance plan to be invoiced separately (the std maintenance plan, not the extended), that way you can claim the VAT back for the maintenance plan at least.
