My clutch pedal have been feeling funny since shortly after. Ihad the clutch and release bearing replaced. The pedal felt like it was hooking, and would return slowly once released. The bearing was also noisy at times, but would be quite one slight pressure was applied.
After Wynand had his failure, I decided not to wait longer and pulled the engine out.
Found some wear on the snout, not to bad, but enough to explain the issue.
I took some measurements, luckely the tip and the tail was stil in good nick. Made some drawings of the sleeve, copying the ones on the net. I stuggled to find a bearing that would work.
In the end I had the new standard bearing bored out to suit the sleeve. I took it to a machine shop that I deal with at work, they did it for R200.00 as a favour. The sleeve is made from 304 stainless steel.
Now comes the fun and games of getting the engine reinstalled.

Thanks. Engine installed yesterday. Clutch feels good.
It is hugely satisfying to do such a job yourself.
