Hello guys,

I have a 1998 Forester s/tb (185kw) model – I bought it a few years ago from a guy from Malawi. The vehicle is registered in my name, and the natis is in order with the latest licence (which expired 2017/08). The vehicle is at my home, and in daily use. It has a small minor oil leak on the sump, but nothing serious. The rest of the car is in good condition with no problems.

I now have bought a 2004 Forester XT (for low range and camping purposes), and want to sell the older one – so I have made a few phone calls about importing the car, and that seems to be issue because I have not stayed longer than 6months continuous in Malawi, and bought the car while I was there.

So now I am considering selling the car for spares – but on the end, I don’t want a half-stripped car in my drive way – so I am thinking of selling it a whole unit for spares…

Is there somebody out there that is currently busy with a rebuild, or who can use the vehicle?

Price is R30k neg…

Hi Rigby

"...I now have bought a 2004 Forester XT (for low range and camping purposes),...."
The XT should not have a dual range gearbox.

These were only available on the NA models.

That's according to my manual and the incredible Dr GOOGLE
