Hi members

I've been frequenting this forum a lot & decided to register because I am that confident in my next vehicle  :) Also, I see that you guys are really helpful and I am hoping the kindness could extend to a future Forester Owner.

So, I have been test driving many Foresters & I'm dead set on a 2013/2014 XT. I've come to realize that dealers buy way too low (on trade in) & often disappoint & offend the seller. That is why I am hoping if there is any members who are considering selling theirs, to please let me know before you go into a dealership. I am in the JHB region but I am kind off flexible to travel out to see it.

I've always wanted a scoobie, first time round it was a white 2.0R 2007.. couldn't afford it and settled on a Tiburon. Second time I wanted the STI 2009, couldn't afford it and bought an S2000.. I really don't want this to happen again  ;D

Regards
SG

Welcome SG - sure there might be one available on here?

also, keep an eye out on dealer stock - they sometimes have an XT that has been standing a while on the floor and they might be willing to let it go at a very good price. i know Cape Town Subaru has a Black XT that has been standing a while. follow the link below to the one i'm talking about.

Hi SG,

Please tell me why you went XT over any other model?

I am doing a first impressions on the SJ as I am considering the move but for some reason I will be going for the 2.5 X over other versions coming from a 2.5 turbo.

Hi thebus

Shooo, tough question. I have to say it's because of the award winning FA20DIT. The 1 criteria I have that determines whether I like a car or would buy it is the engine it comes with. So I was basically sold before I even test drove any XT's. I have to be even more honest, based on affordability, I also gave a few XS's a drive. Its a brilliant car, more solid than any other crossover/suv i tested in the price range. I also hear that it's bullet proof engineering, more affordable, way better economy and just as capable off-road, so I got conflicted in what to go for. End of the day the boost convinced me  ;D

The XT in S# mode feels sooo good! Makes it all worth it for me.

Had to be an SJ too because I needed a vehicle with low mileage and needed a crossover/suv more than a sedan.

But if my limited experience driving the 2.5XS SJ counts for anything, you are making a really good choice. The premium comes with some nice features too.

Thanks for the reply. Been watching the reviews and some of the testers have actually said its a bit too much power and S mode is very responsive and S# mode is crazy responsive.
