I drove a forester recently and was impressed, I am keen on this car but I am a bit naive as to maintenance and such.

What you guy think of this vehicle?

Here is another one, but I read the gearbox is 4 speed and thus not a good idea...

Firstly welcome.
Secondly these are FUN cars.
You are looking at the extremes with these 2 cars. First one is a turbo with hi specs and very powerful and fast, but with power comes an empty wallet.
Second one is Non turbo and a bit dull at overtaking at 120, but still extremely capable offroad.

With any subaru, service history is important. Ensure you get a bumper to bumper warranty.

Personally I have the Manual turbo and wouldnt think twice of getting a auto NA, but still enjoy my car.

Hey there and welcome.
S-ed very very nice, price seems on par with what I have seen dealers advertising them for (not sure what they are selling)
Option two is too expensive imho, also the auto is a decent box even in 4 speed guise.

What are you plans with the car? Camping? And how do you drive?  Let that guide you on your best option.
