Laaste 2 dienste, 15'000 en 30'000 was by Subaru Somerset Wes.

JBH, unfortunately I can only voice my opinion with the technical guys, they have to abide by Subaru SA's guidelines which as you know can sometimes be frustrating. :-\

The Bloemfontein "Dealer Principal" OK'ed new filters for me when they serviced mine. Apparently they just stated that the filter was too clogged to clean. But then I did a lot of city driving in informal areas. Those Taxi's pour out a lot of smoke and oil.  :(.

Ok, to get this show back on topic...
I have decided to drive the Outback some 2 more years. At the moment, I am kind of eyeballing the new Toyota RAV4 AWD Hybrid that will launch next year, so maybe the year after, it may be a good replacement candidate. Will wait for it too land and see...

I find myself looking at Lexus RX 350 ads....

Anyone have some experience with them? Looks like good value secondhand. Might be a bit more reliable than a Scoob.

Good thing I don't have any money.

don't have any experience with Lexus, always liked them - but heard that they can be expensive to maintain as well.... 8)

I went to look at one during lunchtime, 2011 model.

Biggest drawback is interior space. Although it is much larger than a Foz outside it is narrower or about the same on the back seat, and due to the sloping back window the boot space is also limited. Not really for a family with three small kids. Legroom is more on both rows.

Otherwise I would trade my Foz in a heartbeat. I can go for a more refined car now after 7 years of SG Foresters.
