Hi, I own a 2009 Forester 2.5XT. I think I need to get the head gaskets replaced, major timing belt service, Radiator and plumbing service. Car started to overheat a while ago, with tell tale bubbles in the water system. (Leaking head gasket?)
Used to be ok for driving around the block, kids to school etc, but overheats on any trip longer than 10km.
(Air in water system causes thermostat to close, with a snowball effect....) Today she is running rough, so I think the problem is escalating....
I bought the car a year ago, and not sure what my course of action is now. I don't want to spend R100K plus on a car that cost me about that much to buy!?
I am looking for a diagnosis and estimate for repair from someone close to Wonderboom, Pretoria.
Should I go to Subaru Centurion with this, or can it be done by somebody other than them?- afraid to even ask what they will charge for this!
Thanks.

Depending on the damage you could have it done for around R 30 000. The members from Gauteng will direct you to a good dealer or private shop.

Does anybody have a review of Auto Sound and Engineering in Koedoespoort, Pretoria.
Heard that they are good with Subaru's, but that post is 4 years old.
Anywhere or anybody else that can be recommended for a Head gasket job?
Thanks.
