Hi all

Have a 2011 outback with a centre diff that tends to bind up once it's hot. Doesn't make the car undriveble but its getting progressively worse. Dealer ship says replacement is the only option. Can these be serviced ? Can one get aftermarket spares for these ? Second hand spares ... ?  Any advice is welcome. Purchased the vehicle with 105000 m from Subaru  agency , only done 15000 km since I got the vehicle in Dec 2017

Won't the dealer replace it since it is less than 12 months since they sold it to you?

Have you checked that all four wheels are the same size with the same tyres?

Hi Oingo. That part will definitely need to be replaced as it is a non-serviceable item. If I were you, I would take it back to the Dealership you purchased it from as by law there is a 6 month period, from time of purchase, that you can return the car to the Dealership should any repairs be required or should you not want the car. Let us know what happens

What did Subaru charge for centre diff replacement if you don't mind me asking?  I'm on 125k on a 2010 Outback and it's binding.  This at the same time that the headgaskets are failing as well  >:(
