Anyone fitted one recently?

Looking at a couple of Youtube vids, they seem to be decent enough for their price point

Something like this from Dasaita or Seicane. Together with a Bluetooth OBD plug and Apple CarPlay

Hello.
I do not know about you, but I am not a fan of China.  :-[
For a long time, >:( I was looking for a good option for the best price.
My advice 8) is to try SMARTY Trend head unit.

Well. Smarty is manufactured in Hong Kong which is technically administered by China.  :-X.
Some of the company's offices are in Germany.

Remember, there's a difference between a Chinese product and a MADE in China product! Most manufacturers have factories in China, i.e. Cummins, Caterpillar and many electronics companies.
Ex - 2007 Subaru Forester XS
Ex - 2008 Subaru Forester XT
Current - 2010 Subaru Forester XT

Even some BMW motorbikes are now apparently manufactured in China and exported to South Africa.  ;D

#Smarty-Trend have none for the SG model.  :(

Buying these things via import/ebay/deal-extreme/... is always a gamble. Who do you go to for info/complaints/returns?
(Be prepared to potentially loose your investment)

What I've seen in another country, is that the FM receiver of some of these head units cannot tune in to the local FM stations' range. So, just check that they can actually tune into our range....
