My XT is now on 88000. But there is a noisy pulley/ idler on startup. So to play it save I am thinking of doing the 100k service now. Along with the service I'd also like to decat the exhaust and then have the car mapped. Also toying with the idea to have an external venting bov fitted.

So being in Kimberley where do I take my car? I am prepared to travel, so recommendations in JHB will also work.

Especially for Auto Foresters go to WRC Tuning (in JoBurg). Make sure Hylton does your car himself, he's fine tuned many auto Foresters one of which I've driven. The speed that he gets the auto box to change gears and the responsiveness of the vehicle is incredible. He's a difficult buggar to pin down though which is annoying when you live out of JoBurg which is why I ended up not taking my Forester to him for the big upgrade. Maybe he's better now though, give him a try.

Just be warned though, once setup your auto Foz is going to guzzle a whole lot more juice.

Oh, and I'd vote no to the noisy venting things for Foresters, it just doesn't suite them.

Thanks. 3rd recommendation for Hylton. Scooby probably can't go worse on fuel than it is now. Average is around 14l/100km at the moment.

As for the external venting - it is still a turbo scooby :)  Just without the gold rims. But being an auto you won't get it to dump as often as a manual anyways.

Thanks Dash, I was wondering about the gear changes.

Nothing worse than having a car with more oomph and the auto gearbox takes it's time deciding which gear it needs to be in.

Is there still a service agent in Bloem? Just asking. They'll probably rip you a new one, for 100K service

Hi Guys.

Great post.

I'm from botswana and am visiting jhb this weekend. While i'm in Gauteng i really need my 100000km service done. i had previously opted to use TRB but they seem to have gone cold. no telephone e-mail or website.

who else does good for for the above job. i've thought about nxgen but they seem mainly performance upgrade orientated.

am starting to stress as it's less than a week away and i now have no where to get the service done..

any help??
