Just a piece of filter media around the edge that presses against the frame and the airbox. I have now done the same that I did on my Husqvarna 701 to help and keep out dust (which seems to be successful to some extend) and that is to apply some Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) around the filter edges before refitting it.
BUT, if the gasket is shot, then it bypasses more when it gets blocked......
Do you have OEM filter?
I know some of these GUD filters just have a "hardend" section around the edges, and the box has like a knife edge moulding to depress into the edges. Not the best idea for dust, in my opinion.
But then most of these filters are designed for city dust, not lekker gravel road dust.
