Fortuner / Pajero Sport

1 - I wouldn't spend money on a bumper. If you need a bumper you are clearly taking your car into places where it shouldn't be. I would rather spend the money on a spacer lift and larger tires.
2 - make sure you buy RIGHT-HAND DRIVE carpets
3 - Buy your plugs from ROCKAUTO.com and save 75%

Wheels, Tires and Brakes. / Re: 2007 2,5X Tyres

If you plan to do any dirt, the GO12/5 is the tire to have. The 55's are very soft in the sidewalls and I've seen plenty die on easy gravel roads.

Hey Dave

Your car is priced well.

FYI those are WRX wheels, not the STI you refer to.

Has the cambelt been changed yet?

Also, consider the Outback.

N/A Tech Chat / Re: EJ25 Rebulild vs. Import Replacement?
« on: December 01, 2017, 09:34:24 AM »
I would rebuild. There is no real way to tell the condition of an import motor.

The only really expensive thing is the gasket set which was about R7k incl a year or so ago. If you don't need pistons or anything else majorly expensive the overall cost should be around 20k, including new rings. The benefit is that at near 200k km, you can also do your timing belt, which works its way into the cost too and makes your rebuilt worth it even more now.

I still think a decent top mount with water injection is the way to go.
