Hi Grant
Yes, the rumble comes from the back box. You can take your car to Powerflow if there is one there by you. They can put some nice boxes in and even keep the stock tail pipes I am sure. Although why you want to avoid the tuning route beats me. The stock maps and exhaust set up do not do these cars any favours. Too rich in some areas and too lean in others.
At a minimum you should consider a decat and a tune, as it sorts out the fueling and a by product is a few extra ponies and quite a lot of torque.

I have just sorted an SG9 AT out at Powerflow, new back box, their small one, second hand TNT 76mm bellmouth DP and kept the resonator. It has the Boxer beat and is not too loud. And you can hear the gear changes now. Sounds like a DSG. Was a good option for a daily drive.

Not being funny, but I would insist on a HG test and also check when the radiator was replaced. The plastic ones blow around 100k km.
The rest should be OK.

Your best bet is a Powerflow Back Box from Powerflow. Sounds nice without being too loud.
Want louder then get a Jap Box.
Hit me with a pm and I will see what we can do for you?

If you have not been tuned then a decat and tune will help plenty
We can help there too.
R2k for box. R3500 for tune Decat is R1600

Hey Gareth
Are you planning to have it tuned after you have fitted it?
If you in Johannesburg then swing past once it is done and we can do a check for you to see if there are any issues.

None of these things come close to an open source tune for reliability and being able to adapt to our fuel and climate/altitude

For R55k I would not buy a broken SG pre-facelift. For a touch more you can get a working one.

If WBC offers me R55k for that car with leaking HG's I would sign rapidly.

My thoughts exactly. R55k is a very good offer, especially from WeBuyCars. I'd let them take it, they'll likely just sell it straight on and have to deal with the CPA stuff.

Think of it this way, you're paying R75k for a pre-facelift Foz and you can get an xt for around that price pretty easily. If you do an engine swap, you're looking at R95-100k and you'll get a really nice xt for that.
What he said. Sell it. But an XT. Job done

Good day all,

I'm looking for good set of replacement tires for my 2010 Forester 2.5XS. Bought the car with 225 55 R17 Geolander G95's but had quite a few sidewall issues. I drive 95% tar roads but when I do go off road it is usually remote e.g. Lesotho, Wild Coast. I did some research on AT tires but find very contradictory advise from the dealers. Can anybody give me their advise and experiences. I know I can't be too fussy but it would be great to get an AT tyre that will not make a significant difference in terms of noise, consumption and handling on tar.

Will appreciate.

Thanks.
G015 Geolander.
I am loving mine.
