AFAIK, mine has had the following work done:

Before my time: i'm told the pressure plate was replaced (probably under warranty? Apparently common problem on he SG's?)

In my time: Clutch....., Headgaskets (due to oil sweating), Sparkplug tube seals(Ditto), Radiator(Cracked, done by myself), Timing Belt(done by myself)
Gearbox/diff oil (a while ago)(done by myself)
Gearbox Oil + Ceratec (recently)(done by myself)

N/A: I had a 2003 XSeL with nearly 260000km's on the clock, until a physics problem was encountered (my radiator and some Hilux's towbar attempted to occupy the same space in the same time).
Currently driving my 2005 (MY06) XT with 247100km's on the clock, no rebuild and no issues, though I don't have the complete service history. Both manual.

I heard an urban legend a few years back, of someone in the Eastern Cape selling an Outback with k's approaching a million, but can't find any evidence of that now - if anyone can find that car, buy the owner a beer for me?

My car, 229k, but when I asked the guy in Bloemfontein how much he'll give me, he said he's got a client with two Outbacks (not certain model or year), with both more than a million on the clock. Apparently the owner drives up to the DRC all the time.

2006/07 xt manual on 212500 - was idle for much of the last year, but I am driving it full time again - such fun!!!!
did clutch at 187000 and full cambelt service at 200000. still goes fantastically smoothly, best ride ever. Going to keep it for a good while still

forgot to mention the drivers window motor gave up - was always dodgy, would only react like 15 seconds after you pressed it to go down, sometimes longer, and then it finally stopped working all together

The 2008 X nudged 212 500km, so to celebrate it got some fresh oil yesterday and a new oil filter to play with.

Cambelt/waterpump and auxiliary belts were done on 200k and with cabin air filter and new blades on the windscreen.  Also fitted new G051's just before winter, they really do squeal... But what a joy on some dirt road! :D

Does have an affinity for brake pads though

By no means the highest here, but a milestone for me. Bit miffed because I missed the actual mark, but anyway.
Nice thing is, 200k service already done 😄, not so nice, having gearbox bearings done next week. Should be good to go to 400k kms then 😉

What is wrong with box bearings?
Who is doing the bearings work?

Post by: D-ReX on January 17, 2016, 09:23:22 PM
Lol!

Pilot bearing gone, may as well replace all bearings while box is open.
Taking it to RDG CT. Mark there worked on a Dawie Oliviers rally Imprezas. So he knows his way around a Subaru gearbox.

Title: Re: The Highest KM
Post by: Sir Gary on April 19, 2016, 11:47:27 AM
It's called old age - catches up with us all... :-X

My 2006 Outback's radiator has gasped it's last gasp (a fully-loaded road trip through the Transkei being it's death knell) ;
couldn't find the same size, but the turbo version's fits fine (albeit a bit thicker - no worries, just more cooling  ;D)
Good for another 350 000km...

Title: Re: The Highest KM
Post by: berndp on April 19, 2016, 04:41:39 PM
Can't claim un-opened, but can claim un-blown engine @ 324k km.
Head gaskets were done as precaution, while the engine was out for clutch replacement.

Have rebuilt my 2 GTs(SF5) in the last 8 months.
Just done 360k kms on my work 02 S turbo, rebuilt at 350k kms. Rebuilt the 98 GT also doing around 350k kms ( bread bin) after f up by the previous owners mechanic. Got them each to pay a third if the cost.
Thank god the Prodrive is fine...on around 180k km.

Hi Manfred.
Port and Polish help with better flow. It start boost at lower RPM. I can drive my SG9 in  top gear,  uphill from 80km/h (2000 rpm) Not recommended!!.  It make a very nice tow vehicle.
Hope it answers you question.

Here it is, The 300k km mark.

Timing belt and headgaskets are now 4000km old, and the car seems to be running lekker.

2006 model 2.5x n/a stock standard.

major replacements along the way: in order of appearance

1) Clutch
2) Centre Diff
3) CV's
4) Radiator
5) Leaky headgasket oil ( since i bought the car)
6) Eventually blown headgasket ( misfire and overheating)

Not hassle free, but probably what can be expected from such an old car.

Edit: Added radiator. The oem radiator top cracked a long time before the head gasket went.

I took the car to Wayne Hay, he did all the work for me. New unit from Subaru. it was a rather costly exercise, cant recall the exact amount, but I just remember how much it hurt.

Hi
Highest km on unopened N/A 2L FORESTER motor that I know  is  403kkm  before HG blown due to cracked radiator.
I have opened the motor and there is still a lot of live left.I have fitted a used motor that I bought from scrap yard for R4500 instead of  rebuilding the old motor.

Title: Re: The Highest KM
Post by: josny1964 on August 09, 2016, 10:34:41 AM
It was a freak motor I bought.
I could see it was in a front end smash from marks on the sump.
Pull the dipstick, Oil is clean ,check spark plugs new plugs, check crank seal new.
It looked as if the guy had over all the engine and smashed it on the first trip.
So sometimes you get lucky with used parts.
